DESIGNED TO CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENT
West Thames College’s Student Awards recognise achievement, dedication and contribution across the college community. I developed a coordinated visual identity for the 2026 event, bringing a consistent sense of occasion to communications before, during and after the ceremony.
Deep blue and teal backgrounds establish a formal setting, while sweeping ribbons of college colour, subtle light effects and star motifs bring movement and celebration.
As the college’s sole graphic designer, I led the design and adaptation of the event materials across print, digital and large-format applications.
ROLE
Event identity · Graphic design · Editorial design · Print and digital production
DELIVERABLES
Save-the-date graphics · Invitations · Countdown assets · Sponsor communications · Event programme · Certificates · Digital signage · Display banners · Winners’ display
BUILDING ANTICIPATION
The campaign began with save-the-date communications and continued through a coordinated countdown to the event. A consistent headline treatment and circular countdown device made each update recognisable while giving the changing message a clear focal point.
General and VIP invitations carried the same visual identity, with tailored arrival details and programmes for each audience.
A GUIDE TO THE EVENING
The event programme brought together the Principal’s welcome, running order, keynote speakers, award recipients and sponsors.
Inside, a lighter editorial layout balances the more expressive cover. Clear headings, structured columns, portrait photography and restrained colour accents organise varied content into an accessible guide to the evening.
RECOGNISING THE SUPPORT BEHIND THE AWARDS
Sponsor communications formed a connected part of the event identity, from the initial invitation to support the awards through to dedicated spotlight graphics, programme features and display signage.
Flexible layouts gave partner logos and messages their own space while maintaining a consistent relationship with the wider event branding.
The visual identity extended across the ceremony’s physical and digital materials, including display banners, screen graphics, certificates and refreshment cards.
Adapting the design across these different scales connected prominent event signage with the smaller items guests and students encountered throughout the evening.
RECOGNITION BEYOND THE CEREMONY
The visual identity was extended into a series of large-format applications used throughout the campus environment.
Roller banners and event signage helped create a recognisable visual presence while guiding visitors through the event space and reinforcing the campaign identity at key touchpoints.
